Description
The third week of August marks one of our favorite migration moments: Common Nighthawks will be moving south from their breeding grounds on one of the longest migration routes of any North American bird.
To catch a glimpse, we'll start by learning about their fascinating natural history, including their crepuscular nature, fluctuating populations, and ability to hunt for insects mid-flight. Once outside, get ready for an eventful show of flight and swooping acrobatics. Bring a picnic dinner and chair to settle in for an evening of sky-watching with good company.
