With many different habitats, from desert scrublands to montane forest, the Rio Grande River Valley hosts a wide variety of birds and is an extraordinary place to visit in winter. During 14 previous Mass Audubon trips to this area, a total of 194 species of birds and 19 species of mammals have been observed. Learn more about the trip and some of the bird species seen, including the majestic Golden Eagle, the comical Greater Roadrunner, and birds with tongue-twister names like Phainopepla an Pyrrhuloxia.
