Tanzania now rivals Kenya as the premier bucket-list African safari destination, and with good reason. From the otherworldly Baobab tree savannahs of Tarangire to the mind-blowing mammal migration of the Serengeti, the wildlife viewing is unrivaled. But many don't realize that East Africa also offers some of the best birding in the world, with many species sitting out in the open in great light or walking tamely about the savannahs. We'll virtually explore the bird and mammal highlights from Mass Audubon's trip to Northern Tanzania in 2019, and review what to look out for if a trip to Tanzania is in your future.

Meet your presenter: Mark Faherty has been the Science Coordinator at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary since 2007 and has led birding trips since 2002.
