Don't venture outside unprepared, learn how to get the most out of your hikes with family in this free online program, just in time for Hike-a-thon. Discover the unique quirks that can come from hiking with a wide range of ages and abilities in your family, and how to make the most out of your time together outdoors. Discover tips and tricks for navigation and interpretation and popular hiking routes appropriate for families throughout Massachusetts.

This program is a great precursor to Hike-a-thon, a Mass Audubon initiative to get everyone outdoors hiking November 26-28.

This program is available for free thanks to the generosity of AbbVie Inc. and Harvard Pilgrim.

Follow up your learning with a self-directed hike at one of Mass Audubon's 60 wildlife sanctuaries or join a free guided hike with one of our naturalists. See massaudubon.org/hikeathon for more.
