Explore the largest grassland in southeast Massachusetts, a fall hotspot for sparrows, raptors, and "grass-pipers" including American Golden-Plover, American Kestrel, Rough-legged Hawk, Short-eared Owl, Snow Bunting, and American Pipit. After lunch, visit the Assawompsett Ponds in Lakeville for Bald Eagle and a large selection of ducks, loons, and grebes. The South Shore is known for November rarities like Tufted Duck, Blue Grosbeak and Dickcissel, and we will chase any in the area.
