Bee populations are in decline due to a number of factors like pesticide use, habitat loss, and climate change. Learn more about these hard working insects, home beekeeping, and what you can do to help save the bees with Massachusetts Beekeepers Association's 2017 Beekeeper of the Year, Mel Gadd!

This five-session class provides an overview of backyard beekeeping and will cover everything you need to get started in this fascinating and productive hobby. Topics include a brief history of beekeeping, bee biology, basics of beekeeping, locating hives, acquiring bees, and beekeeping resources.
