Love is in the air! In the gentle dusk of early spring, American woodcocks perform a spectacular aerial mating display, a feast for the eyes and ears. We will learn about this peculiar member of the sandpiper family, then walk a short distance to witness 'peenting', spiral flights, and flybys of courting males. This will be an easy walk along level trails at dusk.

PLEASE NOTE: This program will be conducted in accordance with current municipal, state, and Mass Audubon Covid-19 protocols. This program will meet and take place outdoors. Masks or face coverings are optional when outdoors, however masks are required whenever indoors, e.g. for restrooms and filling water bottles.
