In this 6-week series we will explore the trails making special note of winter adaptations in plants and animals, learning about biomimicry in the process. We will "scavenge" items from the ground and repurpose these gifts of nature into holiday items for people and birds. The series will wrap up with either a hike or snowshoe trek to the sanctuary's far side. We'll document our learning through the season with nature journals.
Classes will be held outdoors except for extreme inclement weather. Health forms are required for drop off students. Families are always welcome to remain on the sanctuary.
Homeschool classes for 5-7 and 8-12 year olds meet at the same time.
Please note: This program will be conducted in accordance with current municipal, state, and Mass Audubon Covid-19 protocols. This program will meet and take place outdoors. Masks or face coverings are required for activities where participants need to move inside or during close contact outside. There will be opportunities for mask breaks as needed. A detailed confirmation letter will be emailed 24 hours before the program.
We look forward to learning with you!
