Plant trees at Arcadia! We are calling volunteers to help us restore 13 acres of floodplain forest in the meadows managed by Mass Audubon at Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in Northampton, MA. Floodplain forests are uncommon in Massachusetts and host rare plants, store stormwater during flood events, and provide important wildlife habitat. You can be a part of this important project expanding the area of Arcadia's existing, exemplary floodplain forests.
Volunteers will be planting container trees and shrubs in pre-dug holes and putting up herbivory control around each plant. Volunteers are needed for three-hour shifts 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm.
Volunteers will not attend if they, or a member of their household, have symptoms of COVID-19.

We will meet in the meadows off Old Springfield Rd. Directions and covid information will be emailed prior.
