Trail Descriptions

Double Oak Trail

Length: 0.55 miles
Details: After a level start in a short distance, you will encounter a steep slope through a dense understory of mountain laurel beneath a mixed hardwood and white pine forest. Two very obvious understory plants are the low bush blueberry and huckleberry.

Fred Lenherr Trail

Length: 0.39 miles
Details: This trail passes through a young forest of beech and red maple before entering the darker realms of a hemlock stand. Hemlocks are threatened by the wooly adelgid, a small invasive insect that feeds on the sap. See if you can locate their cottony bodies on the underside of the needles
