Climate and Nature Champions

Mass Audubon’s Climate and Nature Champions is a grassroots advocacy program that mobilizes individuals across Massachusetts to speak with one voice on the most pressing environmental issues of our time.

Whether you have been an advocate before or are new to policy work, you can help Mass Audubon fight for land and wildlife protections; clean air and water; and climate and energy policy that will keep us on track to net zero emissions by 2050.

Levels of participation vary from emailing your representative on a priority issue to organizing a local community around a specific campaign. In addition to active campaigns, Mass Audubon always advocates for our policy priorities.

Rescue Raptors

Raptors, foxes, and other predators balance Massachusetts' ecosystems. But these iconic creatures are being sickened and killed after eating poisoned rodents. This campaign supports and connects grassroots advocates working at the community level to reduce the use of rat poison in their neighborhoods.

Restore Horseshoe Crabs

Horseshoe crabs have roamed our oceans since before the dinosaurs. Populations up and down the eastern seaboard are in decline due to climate change and overfishing. We’re working to restore populations of this iconic species as part of our work to promote biodiversity in coastal and marine ecosystems.

Solar and Renewables Siting

Mass Audubon wants decisionmakers to prioritize natural and working lands as part of the roadmap to net zero emissions by 2050. Help us make sure that the solar we need to reach our climate goals isn’t sited in prime forest and farmland that imperils our land protection and carbon sequestration goals.

Become an Advocate

Join our grassroots advocacy network and be the first to know when and how you can get involved. Advocates have the opportunity to attend virtual meetings and trainings with Mass Audubon legislative leaders and experts as well as receive the tools they need to organize on their own.
