Located in Plymouth, Mass Audubon's 481-acre Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary provides a place for learning, exploration, and reflection in one of Massachusetts' fastest growing communities.

Opened in 2018, the sanctuary integrates state-of-the-art technology with innovative programming to create unique experiences for visitors of all ages. We provide opportunities to learn about the natural world in a living, outdoor classroom that focus on the power of habitat restoration, the diversity of life in our ecosystems, and the science behind it all. In addition to the return of a diversity of species like Northern Harriers and Fishers, the sanctuary now boasts over 3 miles of new trails, a spectacular lookout, educational outreach, onsite research, and a flood of visitors every day.

We're off to a great start! But we need to make sure we can sustain this work, expand our reach, and ensure stewardship of the sanctuary for years to come.

Looking to the Future

Your contribution will go directly towards helping Tidmarsh provide:

  • Educational programs for visitors and local students.
  • Enhanced visitor access like additional boardwalks, bridges, and benches.
  • Habitat improvement & ecological management including invasive species control and sandplain and stream restoration.
  • Volunteer program expansion to support citizen science, programs, and property stewardship.
