Search for School Programs at Wellfleet
Horseshoe Crabs, Gr. 9-12
Search the wide-open tidal flats for an ancient keystone species! Students will learn about the life history of the Horseshoe Crab and the foundational role this species plays in the coastal food web. Students will meet a wildlife biologist and make connections between overharvest and threatened Horseshoe Crab populations. Students will participate in Mass Audubon’s ongoing monitoring work that helps increase protections for these fascinating animals.
