Give students a firsthand look at the science behind maple syrup production. Guided by Mass Audubon educators, students investigate maple trees and learn how seasonal changes affect sap flow. Students will observe and taste sap, then end with a visit to the sugarhouse to discover how heat transforms sap into syrup. The two-hour program option includes a longer nature walk on trails to investigate the survival strategies and adaptations of winter wildlife.
