Tide Pools for Tots

Have your class delve into the wonders of tide pools. Compare how different seashells feel, look, and sound. Sing songs about going to the beach. Follow along with a seashore story and participate in group role play. Students will handle small, safe-to-touch beach creatures such as snails, mussels, hermit crabs, and ‘;tickly’ crabs in touch tubs filled with salt water and seaweed. Fall and spring only.
