Amazing Animals and Habitats: Sandy Beach Detectives
A Mass Audubon educator will guide your students through the question: what is sand made of? Students will sort, study, and compare rocks and minerals; examine sand from local beaches to learn about texture, color, and grain size; and play a feeding game about shorebirds. Your class will do their part with a ‘;mini beach clean-up’ while learning about seashells, egg cases, and other sea life found on the beach at the high tide mark. Fall, winter, spring.
