Enhance your plant unit with a visit to the sugarbush and evaporator or by bringing our sugaring process to school! Identify several kinds of maple trees, investigate plant parts and functions, engage with the tools involved in sugaring, and observe the physical changes with eyes and tastebuds as maple sap is transformed into maple syrup. Students grasp plant physiology and functions through a well-known kitchen staple. This will run only during a 4-week window depending on weather and sap-run conditions.
