In this experiential program, students will discover how energy moves through ecosystems-from the sun to plants, and all the way up to predators. Through guided hikes, hands-on activities, and group challenges, students will uncover the fascinating roles each organism plays in the web of life as they explore the concept of interdependence and ecosystem balance.

On your field trip, students will search for producers, consumers, and decomposers on a guided ecosystem exploration hike. They will record their observations in a field journal, match up real sightings to food web roles and play a food web game.
