Wildwood Camp: Teen Adventure Trip - Acadia Adventure
Description
Breathe in the excitement of Maine's Acadia National Park and enjoy spectacular coastal views. We'll hike, scramble, and explore through the park while watching for whales, seals, eagles, and other wildlife when kayaking along the coves and rocky shores. Campers will view a picturesque sunset, spend the afternoon at one of the park's scenic beaches, and understand what makes Acadia so special.
We'll hike along Cadillac Mountain and bicycle along Bar Harbor's famous carriage roads. This itinerary includes cycling; participants should already be comfortable on a bicycle.
Teen Adventure Trips focus on developing a love of the outdoors. Trips begin with a half day of team-building and orientation at Wildwood. Groups then travel to destinations around the Northeast. Along the way, they'll participate in a variety of outdoor adventures, learn the basics of Leave No Trace camping and trekking, and may meet with conservation professionals to participate in hands-on environmental study or service. Participants practice outdoor living and develop a knowledge of the region's natural history.
Wildwood Camp is committed to providing a joyful and inclusive experience for all campers. Groups are small with two leaders and 5-9 teens. Trek campers will be assigned in 3+ person tents based on their requests and conversations with staff. There may be tent groups that are mixed gender based on these requests. If you have any requests or concerns for your child, please reach out to us at [email protected].
