Wildwood Camp: Teen Adventure Trip - Cape Cod Coastal Adventure
Description
Visit some of New England's premier coastal destinations on this trip to islands off Massachusett's Coast and Cape Cod. We will travel to Martha's Vineyard to discover its marshes, beaches, and woodlands. A bike ride through the heart of the island and an afternoon at the beach cap off our stay on the island. Next, we will kayak in Wellfleet Bay, explore the beaches and dunes of the Cape, and meet up with Mass Audubon naturalists to participate in hands-on conservation science.
We will be walking up to 4 miles per day and biking up to 15 miles in a day. Participants should know how to swim and be comfortable riding a bike on a variety of surfaces. No other experience is necessary but participants should be in good physical condition.
Teen Adventure Trips focus on developing a love of the outdoors. Trips begin with a half-day of team-building and orientation at Wildwood Camp. Groups then travel to destinations around the Northeast. Along the way, they'll participate in a variety of outdoor adventures and learn the basics of Leave No Trace camping and trekking. Participants practice hands-on skills in outdoor living, and develop a knowledge of the region's natural history.
Wildwood Camp is committed to providing a joyful and inclusive experience for all campers. Groups are small with two leaders and 5-9 teens. Trek campers will be assigned in 3+ person tents based on their requests and conversations with staff. There may be tent groups that are mixed gender based on these requests. If you have any requests or concerns for your child, please reach out to us at [email protected].
