State of Wellfleet Harbor Conference

The State of Wellfleet Harbor Conference returns for its 24th year, bringing together scientists, conservation professionals, and community members to explore the latest research and monitoring efforts shaping the future of Wellfleet Harbor. Learn about ongoing studies in and around the harbor, hear updates on emerging environmental challenges and restoration projects, and join the conversation about the questions and concerns that will help guide future research and stewardship.

Eight speakers will share results of scientific research and monitoring studies taking place in or near Wellfleet Harbor on water quality, marine mammal communication, cyanobacteria in headwater ponds, river herring, oysters and other invertebrates, and restoration of saltmarsh, estuarine and freshwater habitats. New this year - a question and answer period will follow each talk and will be conducted by voice rather than writing on notecards.

This event is collaboratively planned and sponsored by Mass Audubon, Friends of Herring River, the Town of Wellfleet, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, Center for Coastal Studies, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant, Wellfleet Conservation Trust, Wellfleet Oyster Alliance, and Cape Cod National Seashore.
