Monarch Tagging for Community Science

Description

Join Mass Audubon at the Plymouth Public Library Manomet Branch where we will learn about the migration of Monarch Butterflies and how scientists track them.

Every fall, monarch butterflies embark on an incredible migration. They fly all the way from Canada to central Mexico to spend the winter in the mountains. But scientists still don't know much about the monarch migration and the challenges migrating butterflies face. That's where citizen scientists come in! People all over the Americas place tiny stickers on migrating monarch butterflies and help scientists identify how far these butterflies have traveled and how many survive. Join this important scientific endeavor and tag some monarch butterflies with us!

This is a live animal program.
