North River Sensory Friendly Days

Description

Join us the first Wednesday of every month for North River Sensory Friendly Days.

Sensory Friendly Days are typically during quiet Visitor Center hours (no scheduled programs, fewer visitors) for those who would find that more comfortable; the North River Nature Center will be open to all ages.

There could be encounters with our resident turtle ambassadors including Mr. T and Shelly the red-eared sliders. We'll have sensory-rich biofacts for patrons to handle and interact with and activities that can be brought along on our trails.

This event is free to the public and open to everyone; registration is encouraged but not required! This is a come-and-go-as-you-wish event, stay as little or as long as you'd like.

Mass Audubon staff and educators will be on site to provide an opportunity to learn more about the local wildlife, sanctuary history, and answer any of your nature questions.

This program will be held mostly indoors, with outside excursions available at the patron's leisure. Our nature center is fully accessible with bathrooms and seating available.

You are welcome to call our Nature Center with any questions, and to confirm that there are no scheduled programs in the Nature Center before you arrive.

This program is supported in part by grants from the Marshfield and Duxbury Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
