Beachside Botany at Duxbury Beach

Description

The plants along the shoreline at Duxbury Beach have an important job: they stabilize sand, reduce erosion, create dune structure, and provide habitat and food for wildlife.

On this guided botany walk, explore the dynamic zone where coastal plants and algae thrive, learning to identify salt-tolerant species and understanding how tides, salt spray, and shifting sands shape what grows where.

Mass Audubon is grateful for the generosity of the Duxbury Beach Reservation Inc. for funding this program and for their service and dedication to protecting the critical resource we know as Duxbury Beach.
