Description
Mollusks may look primitive, but the razor clam's ability to generate its own quicksand to escape a predator tells a very different story. On this beach exploration, discover the remarkable survival skills, specialized anatomy, and ecological importance of Duxbury Bay's mollusks.
Watch how razor clams, snails, clams, and other species move, feed, dig, and protect themselves in their natural habitat, and learn how these often-overlooked creatures underpin the health of the entire coastal ecosystem through water filtration and habitat structure.
Mass Audubon is grateful for the generosity of the Duxbury Beach Reservation Inc. for funding this program and for their service and dedication to protecting the critical resource we know as Duxbury Beach.
