WaterWatch Lecture Series: South River: Past, Present and Future
Description
Join us for an engaging lecture focused on the South River-its past, present, and future. Earlier this year, NSRWA and its partners celebrated a major milestone with the removal of the first dam on the South River at Veterans Memorial Park in Marshfield. This transformational project marks the first step toward restoring the river and building a healthier, more resilient watershed.
NSRWA's Kezia Bacon and Becky Malamut will guide us through the South River's story-from its deep history, including Native American settlements and the Portland Gale, to the decade-long effort to remove the dam, and what lies ahead for this treasured natural resource.
