Lanterns Between Moon and River

Description

Around the globe, devastating floods, extreme rainfall events, and human driven conflict are inflicting heavy harm upon our shared planet. Led by local artist Zhonghe Elena Li, this community hands on art workshop invites families, youth, and community members to reflect on the consequences and cherish our precious Earth through creative practice. Participants will join hands on sessions to craft lanterns, decorating their creations with paper cutting and painting. Rooted in the fact that we have only one Earth, the project encourages collective care for our living world and a deep sense of community belonging.

The lanterns will be displayed in the nature center and become part of a lantern parade during the Nature in the City Festival on October 17.

Presented in partnership with the Cambridge Arts Council, a local agent of Mass Cultural Council.
