Community Science and Art: City Nature Challenge

Description

The City Nature Challenge is an annual global BioBlitz event that encourages people to observe and document wildlife in their urban environments. Using the identification and observation app iNaturalist, we'll explore the park to record the wildlife we see, then create art based on what we find. Our findings will be automatically uploaded into the Boston area's team list.

For kids, we'll provide drawing materials and photos of Magazine Beach species to bring your illustrations to life. Cambridge youth will be eligible to enter their art into the Cambridge City Nature Art challenge for a chance to win gift cards. For adults and older youth, help stitch and embroider a banner collaboratively made by Cambridge residents this spring that will be displayed in the nature center.
