Meet the beekeepers of the Boston Nature Center in this behind-the-scenes look at our buzziest pollinators.
You'll have the opportunity to observe real beehives up close in all their summer glory. See how a beehive works, including honeycombs, raw honey, baby bees, and if you're lucky, spot the elusive queen. Sport a real beekeeping jacket and veil and learn about various beekeeper techniques from the experts.
Whether you're a novice, aspiring, or experienced beekeeper (a ‘;beek'), Boston Area Beekeepers Association's open hives give everyone a chance to learn and ask questions about honey bees, and to share stories and experiences.
Drop in to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of bees.

Everyone will be provided with beekeeping jackets & veils. Please dress in long pants (not tight against the skin), socks, thick gloves, and closed-toe shoes. Strong odors can disturb the bee colonies. Please do not wear perfumes/colognes (e.g. scented hairsprays).
