Stroll along the trails surrounding Ponkapoag Pond during a guided bird walk and discover the vibrant birdlife of spring. Keep an eye out for migratory songbirds in the trees and waterbirds gliding across the pond's surface. Along the way, learn about the diverse birds that call Massachusetts home and the vital role these habitats play in their seasonal journeys. It’s a peaceful and rewarding way to explore nature through birds.

Instructions
Participants should meet in the parking lot behind Metropolis Skating Rink.
The hike will take place in an open area where insects may be present, so wearing a hat, long pants, long sleeves, and applying bug repellent is recommended. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring sunblock and a coat if needed, and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Don't forget to bring water and binoculars for the best birdwatching experience.
Children are welcome but should be able to manage a longer hike. Participants are welcome to stay for as much of the program as they like.
