Mass Audubon and the Lenox Garden Club invite you to join us for a brief presentation followed by field-based discussion on forest resilience. We'll visit and examine sites affected by the microburst that occurred at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in 2021. The recovery from the microburst offers an opportunity to explore the impacts of wind disturbance, discuss forest vulnerabilities, and consider potential wildlife and climate friendly management practices. In the field, we'll highlight Mass Audubon's planned management response and discuss how land stewards can work to build forest resilience as climate change unfolds.

Participants will learn about best practices and resources for managing forests from Mass Audubon Senior Regional Ecologist, Tom Lautzenheiser, and Mass Audubon Conservation Scientist, Josh Rapp. This workshop is geared toward those involved with land management through land trusts and local community groups as well as landowners.

This program is free thanks to support from the Garden Club of America in collaboration with the Lenox Garden Club.

Registration is required.
