Our school vacation week program immerses children in nature and art through stories, games, hikes, and explorations of different art mediums. Our programs are developed and led by our education coordinator Sean Kent, Sarah Howdy, and a dedicated team of environmental and art educators.
Uncover nature's mysteries as you explore the wintery world in our wildlife sanctuary. Become inspired by winter and create wild art.
- Tuesday: On Tuesday we will explore the amazing world of tracking animals in the winter. We will hike through the wildlife sanctuary and create art using clay.
- Wednesday: Learn how birds and other animals survive in winter. We will go on hikes in our wildlife sanctuary and once we head indoors, we will explore the masterpieces in our collection and paint in our art studio.
- Thursday: Winter Safari: Discover the hidden worlds of winter animals and go on a snow safari. Learn how owls and hawks survive and thrive in winter. In the art studio, we will explore the world of printmaking, making collagraphs, carvings, and stamps.
- Friday: On friday, we will go on a winter wildlife adventure and "soar" through the sanctuary. Art projects may include building owl nests and making birds out of clay.
