Don't worry, you're not expected to be able to identify that far away flash of color by yourself; there are plenty of tools available to help, and believe it or not, it's all part of the fun! Binoculars and scopes can help bring an image into focus, while field guides and apps help to narrow your identification conclusions. Plus, you'll discover supportive birding communities within Mass Audubon and in your area who share the same interest and curiosity as you do.
Please note: This program is part of our online series on Birding Basics. You do NOT need to take the full series to enjoy this class. However, if you register before March 23, you can get access to all 6-sessions for the price of 5 (March 23: Feeder Watching & Neighborhood Birds; March 30: How to Use Binoculars, Field Guides, & Birding Apps; April 6: How to Identify Unknown Birds; April 13: Where & When to Look for Birds; April 20: How to Decode Bird Behavior; April 27: Birding by Ear)
