Most of the time, observing an unusual bird comes down to being in the right place, at the right time. A vital aspect of birdwatching that many beginners may be unfamiliar with, is that it's just as important to take the location and season into account, as it is noting physical characteristics. Migrating birds may be briefly stopping by and winter coats can change the look of a bird dramatically. Learn about the finer points of habitat, season, and weather as it relates to birding, and how you can use this to your advantage, in this online program.
