Enjoy birds by sight and sound in company with other nature lovers. Slow birding is about getting to know the birds in a particular spot, sitting and staying put, or walking slowly and mindfully, paying close attention to the natural world around us.
Beginners to birding are strongly encouraged, and all levels are welcome!
Meet at Isaac Merrill Memorial Park (952 Kenoza St. in Haverhill.)
There is a small, free, parking area at the park. It is also accessible via the MeVa bus line, NECC Haverhill stop.
Dress to be outdoors, and moving slowly. Pack extra layers, a hat, and water.
Bring binoculars and a field guide to birds if you have them, but they are not required, and we also have binoculars to lend.
Our outing will be on a flat, sometimes uneven dirt trail. We will travel slowly, stopping often. If you have a portable stool you are welcome to bring it for those rests.
There are no benches on our route, and there are no public restrooms at the park.
We will travel approximately 1-1.5 miles in total during our outing.
Mass Audubon Cancellation Policy: If you wish to withdraw less than seven days prior to the program, refunds cannot be issued. If we cancel the program, you will be refunded in full.
