Winter is an excellent time to bird the North Shore. We will travel from Salisbury State Beach to Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Andrew's Point, and Eastern Point in Gloucester. We will scan ocean locations for wintering ducks, alcids, loons, grebes, gulls, and Northern Gannets. We will explore the inland field and scrub habitats for raptors, sparrows, Snow Buntings, and Lapland Longspurs, as well as crossbills, grosbeaks, and other finches. We may even find an early Snowy Owl, Short-eared Owl, or other rarities that may be in the area.

This program is open to teens ages 14 and older with an adult.

Instructions and Directions:

Please dress warmly and wear waterproof, insulated footwear. The group will meet at Drumlin Farm and travel in Mass Audubon vehicles. Lunch is not included in the price, but will be in a heated restaurant.
