Mid-September is the peak of the broad-winged hawk migration. If conditions are right, we might witness kettles of large numbers of birds moving south to spend the winter. Optimum conditions include winds under 20 mph from the northwest or northeast. Blueberry Hill is a great location to watch for migrating hawks. We'll be looking for several hawk species, as well as eagles, vultures, and ravens. We may also see migrating warblers.
