Art Installation at the BNC: Laura Lima’s ‘An Indistinct Form’
April 22, 2025
On Display May 22-October 31, 2025
At Mass Audubon's Boston Nature Center
Mass Audubon is taking part in Boston’s first Public Art Triennial. The thought-provoking art of Laura Lima will be on display at the Boston Nature Center as part of a city-wide exhibition of 16 local, national, and international artists.
Lima’s art installation, An Indistinct Form, presents habitable sculptures and whimsical installations throughout BNC, developed with the help of Mass Audubon naturalists, volunteers, scientists, and the artists own experience with the Instituto Vida Livre in Brazil. These sculptures for animals provide shelter, and environmental enrichment for local wildlife like birds, butterflies, and woodland creatures.
By blending aesthetic creativity with ecological purpose, Lima raises awareness for the well-being of animals in urban ecosystems while fostering a deeper connection between humans and the natural world. Lima’s art encourages a thoughtful approach to urban development and making the presence of urban wildlife more visible and relatable to humans.
