The Mass Audubon Museum of American Bird Art (MABA) recently acquired three new works of art for the permanent collection.
Morning Greeting, (Meadowlark) by Marwin Begaye
Thanks to the generosity of collectors and Mass Audubon supporters, Alfred and Susan Chandler, the museum is now the proud owner of an incredible woodblock print of a Eastern Meadowlark by Navajo artist Marwin Begaye, whose work focuses on bird ancestors, storytelling, and traditional textile patterns.
Begaye previously shared how his work examines the issues of cultural identity through the intersection of American Indian and pop culture as part of MABA’s The Art of Birds Lecture Series, and we are thrilled to have one of his pieces as part of Mass Audubon’s permanent collection.
Bird Lithographs by Carroll Sargent Tyson Jr.
Two lithographs, one of a stately Snowy Owl and the other a dramatic Great Blue Heron, have entered the collection thanks to the generosity of collector and Mass Audubon supporter, David Croll.

The prints are the work of artist Carroll Sargent Tyson Jr. who was a celebrated landscape and bird painter worldwide and a cousin of John Singer Sargent.
With Gratitude
We are incredibly grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Chandler and Mr. Croll for their deep interest in growing our collection and their commitment to the power of art to inspire people to connect with the natural world.
