Make Your Own Six-Sided Snowflake
This activity is just one part of the Young Explorers page featured in the Winter 2019 issue of Explore.
Follow these steps to make your very own paper snow crystal:
- Start with a white piece of paper, cut into a circle.
- Fold the circle in half.
- Fold the half circle into thirds so that it looks like a slice of pie.
- With scissors, make cuts on all the edges of the pie slice.
- Carefully unfold your six-sided snow crystal!
Getting started with paper snowflakes can be a little tricky, so we've created a couple of templates to help you. Just download, print, and start folding!
Once you've got the hang of it, try experimenting with your own designs.
What amazing snowflakes can you create?
We'd love to see what you come up with, so please share your creations with us on Facebook!
Don’t miss a beat on all the ways you can get outdoors, celebrate nature, and get involved.
