Wilson's Snipe
Gallinago delicata

The Wilson's Snipe has been found breeding in only a few freshwater marshes or boggy areas in Massachusetts, and its wintering numbers have dropped significantly in recent years. Its small, restricted breeding population in the state and its lack of protected status (snipe may be legally hunted) make it a species at risk.
