Hooded Warbler

Historically a rare and peripheral nesting species in Massachusetts, the Hooded Warbler is a denizen of the shrubby understory of mature shaded forests. In recent years, Hooded Warblers have begun to appear with increasing frequency during spring migration and early summer. Its breeding distribution in the state remains very restricted.
