Possibly the most common warbler in Massachusetts, the nearly ubiquitous Common Yellowthroat can readily be found in areas where second growth, swampy thickets, and weedy field edges abound. Despite this, there are indications that yellowthroats have shown a decline in abundance since Breeding Bird Atlas 1.
