Habitat offers a variety of exciting volunteer opportunities and internships for people of all interests and experience levels.

Volunteers are valued members of the Mass Audubon team and provide an important link to our local communities. Whether you have a lifetime interest in nature or are just getting started, Habitat has a place for you!

Garden Volunteering

Location: Belmont, MA
Sanctuary: Habitat

Get connected to Mother Nature by joining Habitat’s garden volunteer group. You will help our staff with chores in our beautiful formal gardens which act as a backdrop for weddings and event. There is additional work to be done in our Community Garden with its herb and pollinator beds, children’s garden, and accessible raised beds. Activities include: Planting, pruning, weeding, watering, fence clearing, mowing, and compost management. 


Volunteers can be experienced or beginning gardeners. Must be at least 14 years old.
