Felix Neck is marking the 50th anniversary as a Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary beginning in December 2019 with a year of special events and a drive to secure the sanctuary’s place, people, and programs for the next half century.

Inspiring Nature Heroes for 50 Years

For the last half-century, Felix Neck has served as the community’s resource for conservation, education, wildlife research, and habitat protection. Generations of families have learned and explored with Felix Neck through our school-based environmental education programs, with our knowledgeable naturalists and educators, and by working alongside of us protecting and sharing wildlife and wild lands through our citizen science monitoring efforts.

When Mass Audubon acquired this land in 1969, it adopted the Fern and Feather Natural History Day Camp (established 1964). Through years of dedicated staff and volunteers, we have continued the work of connecting children, as well as adults, with the natural world. And in 2019, we launched a nature preschool, also called Fern and Feather, to meet the community need for early elementary education with a focus on being outside.

Felix Neck Forever Fund

To ensure that Felix Neck continues to inspire youth and adults for the next 50 years and beyond, we're launching the Felix Neck Forever Fund.

Donations to this fund will provide critical support for all aspects of our work, including the expansion of climate initiatives, more access for everyone to programs, and maintaining an engaged and qualified team of naturalists and educators.

You can make a difference—and the time to help is now.
