Fern & Feather Natural History Day Camp: Staff

campers playing a game at Mass Audubon Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary

Well-trained counselors build a safe and supportive atmosphere where campers can learn, have fun, and share in the joy and excitement of the outdoors. Low counselor-to-camper ratios ensure that children stay safe and are engaged with role models who are creative, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.

Staff Selection Criteria

We hire counselors who have experience working with children, who are caring and compassionate, and who are excited to share their enthusiasm for nature with campers. Prior to the start of camp, all staff members undergo background checks and receive training in safety, child development, and nature study. All counselors are First Aid-, CPR-, and/or Lifeguard-certified.

Camp Director: Josey Kirkland
