Wildwood in June and August can have many changes in temperature throughout the day. Plan to bring enough clothing items for each family member to layer, allowing for warm days and cool nights.
Hats for sun protection and raingear are recommended.
Sneakers and athletic shoes are recommended, especially for smaller children. The terrain is gravelly with many roots along the trails. If you bring sandals, they should have a heel strap. Archery and Ropes Course activities require closed-toe shoes. Water shoes are great for ponding and boating.
Please include your routine personal hygiene items as well as sunblock (SPF 30 or higher), insect repellent, and lip balm. You’ll want bath towels, washcloths, and beach towels for each family member.
Each bunk has a mattress approximately twin-sized. Sleeping bags are not necessary, but many children prefer them. Families can bring sleeping bags, or choose to bring twin-sized sheets, pillows, and blankets. Please include a few extra blankets in case of cooler weather.
Families who need to bring extra food for special diets are asked to leave all food in the dining hall, where they can have access to it anytime.
Please do not bring any foods that contain nuts or peanuts, or traces of these. Each family’s food must be in a sealable container labeled with the family name.
Wildwood will provide all Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) for boating activities and by request for swimming. We have sizes ranging from Toddler to Adult. Please do not bring inflatable water toys. Inflatable arm toys or “floaties” are allowed.
Wildwood will provide sports equipment, like bats, sticks, bows, or other items that require special training for safe use. Please do not bring your own sporting equipment to camp.
If you are in need of lodging with electricity, please choose the Carson or Leopold cabins. They are the only housing with electrical outlets.
If you have mobility concerns, please contact the camp office prior to your session. Wildwood does not have motorized transportation available for camper use.
For the safety of all campers, Wildwood does not allow pets on site.
