Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary

Explore Felix Neck’s two miles of trails, which provide spectacular views of the surrounding woodlands, meadows, pond, salt marsh, and barrier beach. In the summer, enjoy such sights as nesting pairs of ospreys and a tree swallow colony. From the observation building, look for wood ducks and other waterfowl in the pond during the fall and winter. In the spring, barn owls may also be seen nesting in the barn loft. Please note our mailing address is different from our physical address; please send correspondence to: P.O. Box 494, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568. This sanctuary has the following universally accessible facilities: Trails, Bird Blind.

Nature Center/Trail Hours:
Nature Center: September to May: Monday - Friday, 9 am to 4 pm; Saturday 10 am to 3 pm; Sunday, 12:30 pm to 3 pm; June to August: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; Saturday, 9:30 - 4:30; and Sunday, 10 am to 3 pm

For Your Safety
  • Do not feed any animals
  • Stay on trails to avoid ticks and poison ivy
  • Do not smoke anywhere on the sanctuary
  • Do not pick or collect plants or crops without permission
Avoid Conflicts with Wildlife
  • Do not bring pets, leashed or unleashed, on to the site
  • Picnic only in designated areas
  • Do not bring motorized vehicles or bicycles onto the site
  • Hunting, fishing, or trapping are not permitted

Admission:
$4 for nonmember adults;
$3 for nonmember children (3-12) and seniors

Directions:
Take the ferry from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven. Follow State Road and turn left on Edgartown- Vineyard Haven Road. Follow Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road for 4.2 miles and take a left on Felix Neck Drive (dirt road) and follow for 0.5 miles to the parking lot and visitor entrance. Bicycles are permitted on the entrance trail but must be left in the parking area.

Martha’s Vineyard Transit Authority: Schedules are available at the ferry terminal, information booths, and Chamber of Commerce; take bus #1.
