Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, located on Sengekontacket Pond, offers many programs that allow participants to enjoy fun learning experiences on the water.
Naturalist Guided Kayak Programs
During weekly kayak programs throughout the summer, explore Sengekontacket Pond including, the salt marsh and Sarson’s Island. We offer single and tandem kayaks perfect for traveling throughout marsh habitats.
Whether viewing an Osprey nest or checking out schools of juvenile menhaden, these trips are fantastic ways to get your feet wet and learn about the dynamic Vineyard ecosystem.
Family Guided Kayak Tours

Join a Felix Neck naturalist for an exploration of Sengekontacket Pond. Paddle the salt marsh and search for pond wildlife. All trips focus on the natural history of saltwater communities found on Martha’s Vineyard.
Moonrise Kayak Tours

See Sengekontacket Pond in a new light— moonlight—as we celebrate each month’s full moon. With a guide, kayak on the pond as the sun sets, stars twinkle, and the moon rises. Ages 14+ only.
Guided Private Kayak Tours
Join a Felix Neck naturalist for an exploration of Sengekontacket Pond. Paddle by Sarson’s Island to see nesting shorebirds feed and frolic. Explore the salt marsh and search for pond wildlife. All trips focus on the natural history of saltwater communities found on Martha’s Vineyard. Daytime, sunset, and evening tours available.
Pricing based on group size:
2-7 Explorers • $500, 2-hour program; 8-15 Explorers • $700, 2-hour program
Groups must include at least one responsible adult. All party members must be included at registration. Ability to walk uneven terrain and load boats into water required.
Self-Guided Kayak Programs
Enjoy Sengekontacket Pond on this self-guided tour. Rhyming quest clues (think: treasure hunt!) will help you uncover the story of the pond’s people, places, and wildlife. Single and double kayaks and two SUPs available; call to reserve for up to 2.5 hours; boats and SUPs must be returned by 3:30 pm.
