Description
Experience the sights and sounds of nocturnal wildlife with a naturalist at Greylock Glen. Learn about fireflies and how best to view or gently catch and release these mystical glowing lights of summer. We'll take a short walk on the gentle Glen Meadow Loop trail while keeping our senses open for fireflies, twilight active wildlife, and stars and planets in the night sky.
This outdoor program will cover up to 1.7 miles on a gravel-paved, gently sloping trail. Pre-registration is recommended. If the program is not full, a limited number of walk-ins can be accommodated by cash or check in exact change. Credit card payments are available for pre-registrations only.

This program is fully outdoors. Meet in front of the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center in Adams. Your guide will arrive at the meeting location 15 minutes before the program's start time. For more information on the Outdoor Center, visit greylockglenresort.com.
Bring a headlamp or flashlight if you need extra help seeing in the dark. A red light is especially helpful because it won't remove your natural night vision or disturb wildlife.
While nighttime programs can be great fun, make sure your group is prepared for mosquitos which can be more active during these hours. We recommend wearing bug spray as well as long sleeves and pants. Check yourself and your children for ticks after attending this program.
If the weather forecast or other factors could affect this program, your guide will contact you via email with more information, typically about 24 hours before your program.
Directions to the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center:
- As you travel on Fred Mason Road in Adams, turn onto Gould Road near Jaeschke Orchards.
- Follow Gould Road up the hill. Turn left to stay on Gould Road. Do not continue straight onto Thiel Road, or you'll end up on an unpaved road leading to a water tower.
- Go past the small gravel pulloff, following Gould Road a short distance until it starts to curve to the right. Turn right into a driveway leading into the Greylock Glen parking lot, marked by a Greylock Glen banner sign.
- You will end up in a large, paved parking lot with the Outdoor Center visible (here are the coordinates of your final destination on Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/r5YFVHysjjvZgDcd9).
